The Unlimited Squirrels series is such a hit! They are filled with humor, as well as with real informational facts. We started the year by reading all of the books from that series, and now my students enjoy reading them during independent reading time. \r\n\r\nThere are some students who are reluctant readers in my classroom, but they really enjoy reading books by Mo Willems. He has a great way of creating books that interest first graders. Many students were working on math interventions as well as reading interventions. I was able to get amazing resources from Teachers Pay Teachers that have intervention sequences which make students feel empowered because they reach goals and are celebrated. \r\n\r\nThese interventions are able to be used every day in the classroom and are helping students who need a bit extra practice on some of the foundational concepts we use in second grade.
