As an educator, I was excited to find titles that not only provided a chance for my students to work as a community of learners...but it was also a novel none of them had read before. Finding this type of novel can be a challenge in fourth grade. We have spent the first novel study of the year reading like \"adult learners\". My students commented that they felt like readers not just decoders. I was a thrilled educator. Thank you all for making this opportunity happen for the readers of Dassa. The phonics kits are very sturdy. They come in a sturdy box. The magnetic letters stick well and are easy for little fingers to move. There is a built-in dry erase area where students can write the words they build. This resource directly matches the instruction I am using. The new resources have been wonderful! The students were excited every time a package rolled in. We have been using all of the materials on our way to becoming math fact masters!\r\n\r\nThe flashcards have been great to use in small group and individual times. The students are able to focus on the facts that they are struggling with and making them more automatic. The games are also SO fun the place value one in particular has been a great resource. \r\n\r\nMy favorite tool that we purchased was the journals. The students complete an online program daily to build fact fluency called Xtra Math. After they complete it they get their score from me and then they can chart/graph it in their journal. They love doing this and I love how they gain a sense of ownership and drive from their score. The pencils and sharpener have also assisted in this process.\r\n\r\nOnce again, thank you so much!!
