Instead of simply reading about drones, photography, communication systems, and aviation technology, my students are actually **using these tools and developing those skills themselves**.\r\n\r\nThe communication headsets have been especially valuable. When students operate the drone, they work as a team. One student may serve as the pilot while others help observe the surroundings, communicate directions, monitor safety, and assist with photography and video. The headsets allow students to communicate clearly with one another while the drone is in flight. This has taught them that successful drone operations require much more than knowing how to fly—they require **teamwork, communication, planning, responsibility, and safety**.\r\n\r\nOur students have used the drone to take aerial photographs and videos of our football games and other outdoor school activities. This has made the experience even more meaningful because students can immediately see how the skills they are learning can be applied outside the classroom. They are not completing a simulated assignment; they are using technology to provide a real service to their school community.\r\n\r\nThe photographs I have shared show my students putting your donation into action. Seeing them outside with the controller and headsets, communicating with one another and operating the drone, has been one of the highlights of this project. They are learning to use sophisticated technology while gaining confidence in themselves as young STEM professionals.\r\n\r\nFor students in our rural community, exposure to technology like this is extremely important. These experiences introduce them to possibilities in aviation, drone technology, engineering, photography, videography, media production, public safety, surveying, and other emerging careers they may not otherwise encounter.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, this project has allowed my students to move from being consumers of technology to operators and creators with technology.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in my students and believing that they deserve opportunities to learn with the same innovative tools being used in today's workforce.
