I like to introduce one item at a time because of our age group and to prolong the fun!\r\nSIT AND SPIN is an age-old product that delights most anyone who can fit on it! My original goal was to teach turn taking and enhancing social interactions. However, it has become so much more. It's a tremendous way to develop core muscle strength as well as teaching laws of motion, speed, force and direction. While spinning, both sides of the brain are activated and vestibular functions are elevated which paves the way for greater learning and processing of what is being taught! The children are curious about learning new concepts of force and motion and lots of experimentation occurs promoting rich language opportunities.\r\nA Little Spot of EMOTION stories and LEARNING STORIES paired with the plush LITTLE SPOTS OF EMOTION go well beyond being a fun way to grasp the concepts about learning emotions, making friends and what triggers some emotions through storytelling feedback. This has been a super way to learn self-regulation skills, practice self-awareness, facilitate emotional management, and even experience how to be empathetic. For younger learners, I had asked for an Emotions Sorter which has improved visual discrimination, fine motor, and provided a fun way to work together. items are fantastic way to aid in learning through fun interactions.\r\nUsing Fairy Tales to teach about STEM concepts has been a seamless way to make Math and Science concepts . Fairy tales promote imagination, early literacy skills, increase curiosity, emotions and empathy. Some can even extrapolate the moral issue of the story. STEM activities foster problem-solving skills, creativity and higher level thinking, not to mention engineering opportunities. When paired, beloved stories become engaging, hands-on opportunities for solving the problems encountered in those stories, children learn to figure out how things in the world actually work -stories sprinkled with scientific inquiry, building opportunities, respecting others' opinions and learning an acceptance of alternate means of problem solving, even mathematical thinking. For example, in THREE LItTLE PIGS STEM, we explored how we might help the pigs escape from the scary wolf. Children's answers varied exceptionally from constructing a new structure to one child saying, \"Well,they could just invite the big, bad wolf in and have a party; there's 3 pigs and one wolf. There's more piggies, so thems don't need to worry. The wolf can't do nothing to three them. He's only one!\"\r\nThis response elicited some change in that other kids who were worried about building a bigger and stronger house, tested this theory, invited other friends, neighbors, and family members and THEN the wolf, with the understanding that the wolf was clearly outnumbered. It was amazing! Fairy Tale Stem is a true representation of active engagement in learning.","fullyFundedDate":1747183172591,"projectUrl":"project/learning-should-always-be-fun-for-little/9113969/","projectTitle":"Learning Should Always Be Fun for Littles","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Sherri","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7722980"},{"teacherId":7481292,"projectId":9376433,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of our DonorsChoose project.
