As an ESE teacher of students with varying emotional and behavioral disabilities, food is very important in my classroom. All of my students get hungry throughout the school day, in between breakfast and lunch, and even after lunch. As we all know, being hungry can really affect one's emotions and behavior. Having snacks available for when my students get hungry in between breakfast and lunch, and lunch and going home...has really helped with classroom climate. The students are no longer \"hangry\" therefore, they are less likely to have impulsive emotional outbursts. These tools enhance learning and inspire creativity, collaboration, and confidence. These resources help students engage with their education in dynamic, hands-on ways that prepare them for the future.\r\n\r\nExcitement and Engagement:\r\nThe new technology has sparked a wave of excitement. The students are more engaged than ever, whether through interactive learning platforms, creative design tools, or collaborative digital projects. The energy in our learning spaces is refreshing, there's a renewed sense of curiosity and motivation that's genuinely inspiring to watch.\r\n\r\nA Community Transformed:\r\nThis initiative is about more than just tools; it's about transformation. It's about allowing our youth to see themselves as innovators, leaders, and changemakers. And it's working. The technology allows me to print in color without having to go off site. We have been working on vision boards. Most are used to the old school with magazines but times have changed and we must adapt. The colored printer will be used as we make our digital vision boards to put up throughout the classroom. The games are for fun day when we have reached our class benchmarks or those days when technology is failing us. \r\n\r\nThe snacks are motivators. The technology age has placed things online and when students get to a certain percentage on their academic success rewards are tangible prior to having their diploma. The new product that seemed to excite them were actually the board games! Of course the snacks but they are used to me purchasing those also.\r\n\r\nAll of my students have been blessed to constantly be integrated to new items. We were previously blessed with touchscreen laptops! They still use those. They use their previously purchased headphones every day. My students are both blessed and grateful!
