I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for your generous support in providing flexible seating options for my classroom. Your contribution has significantly impacted my students' learning experience, and I am excited to share how we are utilizing these new resources to enhance our educational environment.\r\nSince receiving the flexible seating materials, my students have embraced them with enthusiasm and curiosity. The variety of seating options, including wobble seats and floor cushions, has transformed our classroom into a vibrant and dynamic learning space. I have noticed a marked increase in student engagement and collaboration as they take ownership of their learning environment.\r\nOne of the most impactful moments occurred during our recent math project, where students worked in small groups to tackle real-world problem-solving scenarios. The flexible seating arrangements allowed them to collaborate effectively, moving around the room and choosing their preferred seating options. I observed a group of students, seated comfortably on floor cushions, animatedly discussing their strategies while eagerly sketching their ideas on whiteboards. Their excitement was contagious, and it was heartwarming to see them working together, sharing insights, and building upon each other's thoughts.\r\nWhen my students first saw the new materials, their reactions were priceless! The moment they entered the classroom and spotted the colorful seating options, their eyes lit up with joy. They cheered and eagerly rushed to explore the different arrangements. Many expressed how much they loved the idea of being able to choose where and how they wanted to work. The wobble seats, in particular, became an instant favorite, as students enjoyed the freedom of movement while still being able to concentrate on their tasks.\r\nThe positive effects of the flexible seating have extended beyond just the math project. We have also incorporated these resources into our reading and writing activities. During independent reading time, students can choose a cozy corner with a bean bag or settle onto a floor cushion to immerse themselves in their books. This comfortable environment encourages them to dive deeper into their reading, fostering a love for literature. Additionally, during writing workshops, students can collaborate in small groups, sharing their drafts and providing feedback while seated in various arrangements.\r\nLooking ahead, we are currently diving into a STEM project where students will design and prototype their own inventions. The flexible seating arrangements will be instrumental in this process, enabling students to collaborate effectively, think critically, and communicate their ideas. I am excited to see how they utilize these resources to enhance their creativity and problem-solving skills.\r\nMoreover, the flexible seating has contributed to supporting the social-emotional well-being of my students. Many have expressed appreciation for having a comfortable space to work and the ability to choose seating that meets their needs. This autonomy has helped build their confidence and foster a sense of belonging in our classroom community.\r\nThank you once again for your generosity and commitment to our students' education. Your support has truly made a difference in our classroom, and I look forward to keeping you updated on our progress and the positive impact your contribution continues to have on our learning journey.","fullyFundedDate":1739888138144,"projectUrl":"project/fostering-engagement-and-comfort-a-flex/9102945/","projectTitle":"Fostering Engagement and Comfort: A Flexible Seating Initiative","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Blakes","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9918442_orig.jpg?crop=2400,2400,x0,y168&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1741892641631","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9918442"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_4722","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":392,"numTeachers":27,"percentFrplEligible":21,"percentAsian":72,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":9,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":6,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"14.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":86.4,"schoolId":4722,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about D.J.
