Students worked in teams to create food chain models and explain how energy flows from producers to consumers. They stayed focused, encouraged one another, and pushed through difficulties. At the end of the week, as they enjoyed their snacks, they proudly shared what they had learned. The connection between hard work and reward was clear—and meaningful.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the snacks and learned about our new Friday tradition, their faces lit up with excitement. As we are in the beginnings of cold and flu season as the temperatures start to get colder, the gift of facial tissues for the clinic has been essential. I keep 3 boxes open in different places there. I use them not only for runny noses and wiping tears, but also for nosebleeds. \r\n\r\nThe portable scanner that I received has become crucial in my time management. Every physician order, hearing and/or vision referral needs to be scanned into the students electronic record. This portable scanner scans directly to a file on my computer where I can directly upload it into the correct record. This has saved a lot of time that I can then focus on other student based activities like screenings and healthcare education for my students. \r\n\r\nOnce again, I want to thank each and every one of you for all of your generosity and kindness. The cart also allows me to provide quicker care while in the clinic when I have everything I need to take vital signs and examine my students close to me when they come in. \r\n\r\nMy students really liked seeing the Minecraft bulletin board border when I placed it outside the clinic. It would catch their eye and make them then read the important medical information that I put up there.
