I used the five units from Texas Instruments' 10 Minutes of Code program. The project took about a week to complete. I decided to use the three graphing calculators that I received in my Algebra 1 class since it only had three students. Because the class was small, it was easy for me to work individually with the students and I could quickly evaluate the students' learning after each unit.\r\n\r\nEven though the units were slightly above the comprehension of my students, they dived right in and followed the steps to write the programs for each unit. As we progressed through the five units in the project, the students understood more of the commands and got more comfortable with how they were used in the coding programs. \r\n\r\nOverall, this project was a success because the students realized the power of coding and how it solves problems.","fullyFundedDate":1724400091186,"projectUrl":"project/python-its-not-a-snake-coding-by-cal/8683911/","projectTitle":"Python: It's Not a Snake! We usse them daily for our math learning. The use of whiteboards and markers has given me a way to correct errors as they happen, eliminating some of the need to reteach lessons. My students are less frustrated with math as we are fixing long held misconceptions about math facts and the day to day work of our math learning. \r\n My students were so excited to see new whiteboards in the classroom and know that they got to be the first to use them. The love the variety of colors of markers! \r\nMy students' frustration with erasing parts of problems they are working on has decreased adn their attitude about math has improved greatly. We are seeing greater buy-in for new concepts as well as the increase in confidence of our learners. \r\n The binders sent provide a way for my students to keep their math together as they navigate the concepts of walk to math. I often say that organization is the key to math, but for students learned organization at a young age helps them cope with a myriad of assignments as they begin their junior high careers.","fullyFundedDate":1726424063528,"projectUrl":"project/individualized-math-practice-with-whiteb/8777765/","projectTitle":"Individualized Math Practice with Whiteboards and Binders","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Iverson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9747783"},{"teacherId":9764151,"projectId":8802659,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for funding my project. The binders are so easy for the students to use and helps them keep track of all of their work for our reading program. There are no more papers falling out of their desks and being turned in ripped up and wrinkled!
