Your contribution is already making a meaningful difference for our students.\r\n\r\nFlexible seating adaptations, including the rocking chairs, wobble cushions, and weighted lap pads, are helping students regulate their bodies and remain engaged during seated activities such as circle time and group instruction. The swivel chair has quickly become a student favorite and is used both as positive reinforcement and as a sensory break for students who need additional input in order to refocus on seated tasks. The weighted lap pads have been especially beneficial, as they provide calming sensory input without the added heat associated with weighted blankets or weighted stuffed animals.\r\n\r\nFor students with significant sensory needs, including those with PICA, chew necklaces are offering a safe and appropriate outlet for oral sensory seeking. Having a variety of chew types available has been particularly helpful, as some students require thicker, more durable options while others benefit from more flexible chews that provide the specific input they are seeking.\r\n\r\nStudents have enjoyed the sensory fidgets even more than anticipated, and these tools have helped them remain engaged during times when waiting is required, such as after finishing lunch or during our school Christmas concert. I have observed notable improvements in two students in particular—one who previously struggled with screaming while waiting, and another who experiences anxiety during transitions to unfamiliar locations. The fidgets have provided both students with a calming distraction, allowing them to remain in environments they typically find challenging.\r\n\r\nYour support helps us meet our students where they are and provide an environment in which they feel safe, calm, and ready to learn.
