They then take a safety test and operate the machinery under my supervision. Then they are able to use it on their own. With each new machine, I create a small wood shop project for them to test their abilities and become more familiar with it. Thank you so much! Students saw me prepping the spinner for prizes and they couldn't wait to use it. The first time I used it, I setup a movement, team test review activity. It's called a Ladder Activity. Students use their learning resources and their teammates and work through various ladder levels of questions. The questions always start out easy and then progressively become more challenging. After a level is completed, students run up and show their answers. Once they get them all correct, they each spin the wheel for a prize and then move onto the next level. It was very engaging and students had a lot of fun while also becoming more confident as they studied for their test. \r\n\r\nI also used the card games for brain breaks in class. That was great for students because it gives them a chance to relax, focus on building a positive classroom culture, and then they are ready to get back to work on learning. For the Would You Rather games, students get super vocal about their preferences and love moving to opposite sides of the room to declare their choices. \r\n\r\nI am very grateful for the support and opportunities that the project has given my students. I plan to continue reusing the supplies that I now have so they we can do similar learning and social activities.","fullyFundedDate":1727972531963,"projectUrl":"project/middle-school-math-motivation-and-imagin/8671284/","projectTitle":"Middle School Math Motivation and Imagination!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Shephard","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9685365_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1724041356970","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9685365"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_62385","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":804,"numTeachers":34,"percentFrplEligible":66,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":64,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":18,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"23.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":90.2,"schoolId":62385,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Crossler Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Crossler Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/oregon/salem-keizer-school-district-24j/crossler-middle-school/62385"}
