As we read together, they are not only analyzing the characters and themes but also reflecting on their own choices and backgrounds. This process has helped them see how literature can be a mirror, offering opportunities to question, compare, and better understand their own experiences.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, reading time has become an active, engaging space. Students are connecting the themes of fairness, respect, and equality from the stories to real issues in their own lives. They are asking thoughtful questions, weighing different perspectives, and learning how to express their opinions with confidence and respect. These discussions are building both their literacy and their sense of social awareness.\r\n\r\nOne student who was often hesitant to share has started offering deep reflections on how a character's decision reminded them of their own experiences. Another student, who once struggled to stay focused, is now fully engaged because the themes feel relevant and personal.
