My biology students had an awesome time learning about bearded dragons and creating a perfect habitat for our new class pet. \r\nTo start the project, my students did a little research on bearded dragons and their native habitats. Next, they researched what is required to take care of bearded dragons in captivity. After all the research, my students got busy building the best habitat they could imagine for a class pet. \r\nThey worked in groups designing and planning. Working together they created a new \"home\" for our class pet. They filled our tank with decorations, rocks, the basking surface, and the hammocks. They finished off the project with installing proper lighting and heat lamps.\r\nThis project was fantastic! We had a great time, and learned so much! Thank you for helping us achieve our goals. My leadership students have utilized these supplies and will continue to into the next semester. \r\n\r\nThe coloring pages have provided a quiet, relaxing time for students who have completed their work. It gives them something different to do than be on their phone or computer. Coloring seems to have increased their motivation to finish their work on time, so they can color a new page. The coloring pages also provide joy to those who see them. We used them to create a play, allowing my students to be able to draw on the characters a little better. I used the lights to really help create the mood. We used the markers and Whiteboard to storyboard the events in the play. \r\nWe also were able to use the legal pads as props in the play, allowing the students to have more interaction with their characters. \r\nThe cork board provided a place for us to be able to make a vision board for our play.
