I was thrilled to have this project funded so early in the year so my students could have nourishment right off the bat in the new school year.\r\n\r\nMy students entered my office for their initial counseling sessions so excited to see the fully stocked snack and water cart. Many hadn't eaten yet that day and instantly perked up with a little water and food.\r\n\r\nThese small snacks and water tremendously impact my students in their emotional regulation and ability to stay in the classroom. Our goals of staying in the room, completing work and ultimately graduating are severely impacted by emotional dysregulation and snacks and water help so much!","fullyFundedDate":1756073509321,"projectUrl":"project/snacks-for-hungry-high-schoolers-to-help/9639450/","projectTitle":"Snacks for Hungry High Schoolers to Help Self-Regulate","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Rexon (School Psychologist)","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3823117"},{"teacherId":9797583,"projectId":9106560,"letterContent":"The lounge area is not quite complete. I still need to get a rug and some additional reading books. However, as you can see the books, the bookshelf and the bean bag will fit nicely into this space in the fall semester. Our school is out in about 10 days so I decided it woud be wonderful to start out the school year with a lounge.\r\n\r\nI plan to use it as an external motivator to keep themselves caught up with school work. If they are, then they may sign up on the list to use the reading lounge for 15-20 minutes at a time. That is plenty of time for them to whet their palettes for fun reading, build vocabulary and increase reading fluency too.\r\n\r\nOur school uses iReady software for reading assessment benchmarks. But, I hope that materials they can hold in their hands would allow us to go back to in person reading. I have laminated fluency sheets at various grade levels so this is something that I may use just to see if holding books and reading to people is a strategy that helps my budding readers. Your generosity wasn't just a gift of technology; it was a message to my students that their creativity, ideas, and voices matter. With your support, we were able to launch the Crenshaw Media Project—our school's first student-led media team—and bring professional tools into the hands of students who had previously been using printer paper and construction scraps to map out their dreams.\r\n\r\nThe technology you funded has completely transformed how students engage with learning. They're now producing campus-wide content, documenting school events, and creating a documentary honoring our legacy educators. The tools you provided—microphones, camera equipment, headphones—have allowed them to step into real-world creative roles with confidence. One student shared, \"I used to think you had to be famous or rich to use this stuff. Now I'm the one behind the camera, telling the story.\" Another said, \"When people ask what I do, I tell them I run production for our school. That feels good.\" These aren't just class projects—they're professional experiences that are changing how students see themselves and their futures.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in us. Your donation didn't just enhance our classroom—it sparked a movement, gave students a platform, and empowered them to speak boldly, lead creatively, and dream bigger than ever before.","fullyFundedDate":1738181330158,"projectUrl":"project/future-innovators-media-lab-empowering/9070737/","projectTitle":"Future Innovators Media Lab: Empowering STEM Through Creative Media","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Hite","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9902230_orig.jpg?crop=1334,1334,x0,y48&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1740782358430","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9902230"},{"teacherId":1731936,"projectId":9074749,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for providing reinforcement snacks for our students.
