My students have been so excited to have some new items in the counseling office. I've already given out quite a few of the squishie mochis to students for prizes after group sessions. It's amazing how motivating those can be for the students to stay on task. It has also been nice to have some snack options available for when students are hungry and need a little something to help. \r\n\r\nThe students that have been able to use the new legos have been so excited. That was a big request that they had, and they've been having so much fun getting to use them. I've also given a few students the breathing strips to help them with deep breaths when they are escalated. The teachers have reported that they really like them and they're a big help. Thank you so much for supporting us! We could not do all of these cool things without the support.","fullyFundedDate":1758839341828,"projectUrl":"project/new-year-new-school-fresh-counseling-o/9499467/","projectTitle":"New Year, New School, Fresh Counseling Office Tools","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Crandall","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3110517_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1470977530386","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3110517"},{"teacherId":9768607,"projectId":8942034,"letterContent":"My students were so excited to receive wireless mics for our production! We had already discussed how our school only has one microphone for us to use, so we'd have to completely stage the play around the microphone. They wanted to do so many exciting things like the ants marching \"on\" to the stage, the fox hiding in the house, and the crows flying around the stage. The mics allowed them to stretch their acting muscles and use their creativity!\r\n\r\nThe mics also allowed us the opportunity to discuss radio waves, why some mics were working at some times and not at others, and discover how to avoid feedback while our narrators passed the handheld mic back and forth. Some of our students are also in broadcasting club, so this experience added to their learning about microphones and technology. Finally, students learned how to make sound effects themselves, which could then be picked up by their mics. \r\n\r\nThey greatly enjoyed the entire process of producing these three plays from start to finish, and receiving these mics really made them feel extra special and supported! We are currently in the early stages of preparing our second play, and other classes will also be creating their own places. With your help, these mics will go on to aid at least 3 other plays this year alone! We could not have done it without you.","fullyFundedDate":1732292647547,"projectUrl":"project/drama-club-takes-the-stage/8942034/","projectTitle":"Drama Club Takes the Stage!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Mayfield","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9768607_orig.jpg?crop=1736,1737,x0,y1071&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1727367180621","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9768607"},{"teacherId":9768607,"projectId":8806832,"letterContent":"My students were ecstatic to learn all the fun math games they received. As they are beginning to learn fractions and are reviewing area and perimeter, the game Blokus has been particularly beneficial. Students have also enjoyed reading their new encyclopedias, and we are gearing up to do a habitat exploration project next week, using both our encyclopedia and our new modeling tools. Students have used their modeling tools to build miniature food sculptures, create fractions out of play dough, and engineer numerous projects that required an awl, hook, scraper, and spatula. These tools have allowed us to be a lot more creative with our design processes because students know they can build out their designs with more precision than they previously could. Students have reported feeling much more motivated, excited, and engaged in our lessons since we got our new supplies. Even our fun Fridays have been revitalized -- the students love to build using our new magna tiles, planks, and STEM bins, and as a result they're naturally using their critical thinking skills to guide them through the design process, rather than wait for instruction for every aspect of a project. This is a big achievement for our class because one of the big goals of our program is to help students have more autonomy and independence in the classroom by inspiring them to be independent, preparing them with instruction, and giving them opportunities to practice using their independence. Thank you so much or donating to our classroom fund in order to support their explorative learning. We have already begun the second half of the year, and I can't wait to see how we are able to utilize them in our classroom for the rest of our school year.","fullyFundedDate":1727982989865,"projectUrl":"project/invent-shape-build-the-steam-tools-fo/8806832/","projectTitle":"Invent, Shape, Build: The STEAM Tools for Tomorrow's Trailblazers!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Mayfield","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9768607_orig.jpg?crop=1736,1737,x0,y1071&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1727367180621","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9768607"},{"teacherId":4612423,"projectId":8699826,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for contributing to our STEM Bins project! Our students LOVE creating, problem-solving, and then perfecting their creations using these bins!
