I introduced the items during small group time. The students would take a word and write either the beginning, middle, or ending sound. They would then sound out a word using the sounds they wrote using the item provided by your donation. In doing this the students visualized the letters and learn how to write the letter at the same. The students used the white board markers with the boards, and they used the tablets as well. They enjoyed the bright colors, and having their own individual items to write with. The students found writing fun with the boards, paper, pencils, pens, and other wonderful donations.\r\nThe sand boxes that were provided, students really enjoyed the green sand. They practiced their shapes, slanted lines, and even their names. It was a great alternative to paper. They enjoyed it, and were eager to use it.\r\nWith providing all these items my students have had fun writing, and can't wait to practice their writing every day.","fullyFundedDate":1768167424217,"projectUrl":"project/writing-is-fun/9996986/","projectTitle":"Writing is Fun","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Keen","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9360986_orig.png?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1699490433556","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9360986"},{"teacherId":5238570,"projectId":10008167,"letterContent":"Oh my goodness! How full my heart is as our class was able to use the Microscopes donated to our class. We cannot thank you enough for the support.\r\n\r\nOur class is learning about Earth and its natural resources. Today's lesson was describing and exploring soil. First, students were instructed to use only their naked eye and sketch what they saw in their soil sample. Once they practiced using the basics of the microscopes (light and focus) they were able to then observe the composition of soil and boy did they go to town on this! Students were practically screaming on all the microscopic elements that they couldn't simply see with their naked eye! I personally was so inspired to see them and hear them say they love science!\r\n\r\nWith donors like you, our classroom would not have the same experience of having easy to use microscopes. It was difficulty to get them to put them away because they wanted to observe other items around the classroom.
