The students were so inquisitive when they saw boxes being delivered to the class. Once we opened the boxes they wanted to help \"fluff\" our buddies. The plushies were a bit squished in the box. So we fluffed and got the center ready for use.\r\n\r\nThe center consists of the \"Buddies\", the small stuffed animals to read with and the leveled readers for these beginning readers to use. They are able to choose their book and \"Buddy\" and find a comfortable place to read. Students get a bit bored with the same centers throughout the year. The students were so excited when they realized that the boxes were bringing in \"New\" centers. We have been able to \"Spice\" up center time.\r\n Now that students in first grade are reading, then can now write and create words with the word cubes. They can then take it a step further and write that word in a sentence they create. These items and centers have brought excitement back into the Math block. The 120 activity mat came at the perfect time in our Math standards. We were learning 10 more and 10 less. This activity mat is the perfect way to assist students in \"seeing\" this. The mat was designed to lay on the floor, but I decided to attach to the wall so all students can see it at one time. They love coming up and moving the pieces. We even used this mat for the 100th day of school. I numbered 100 Kisses and hid them around the room. Students had to find them and sequence them on the mat. We recently embarked on a project to create a butterfly garden. The students used the new tools to prepare the soil, plant a variety of nectar-rich flowers, and set up a small water feature. This project has not only taught them about the importance of pollinators but also about teamwork and responsibility.\r\n\r\n\r\nOne memorable moment was when we planted our first batch of seeds. The students were thrilled to use the new trowels and gloves. As they carefully planted each seed, there was a palpable sense of excitement and anticipation. It was heartwarming to see them so eager to start gardening.\r\n\r\nOur next steps involve expanding the butterfly garden and incorporating more educational elements. We plan to create informational signs about the different plants and their roles in the ecosystem. Additionally, we are starting a composting project to teach the students about sustainable gardening practices. These projects will continue to build on their knowledge and appreciation for nature.\r\n\r\nYour donation has made a significant impact on our garden club, and we are incredibly grateful for your support.
