We have begun to dive into The 7 Habits. This text is amazing as it affords our students the opportunity to reflect on their own lives. Already they have been looking at habits, both good and bad, in their lives. \r\n The use of their binders with personal notebooks have made our short writing prompts easier to stay organized. As we work through the text, breaking down each of the seven habits, we plan to catalog student work using the plastic sleeves for parent teacher conferences. It is our hope that by the end of the unit we shall have much evidence through the creation of ideas and application of new knowledge.\r\n Recently students were up and discussing paradigms of themselves and others using the Post-It dry-wrase material and markers. Through short station activities they were able to share ideas with their partners before sharing with the whole class. Any time students can get up, moving and discussing the text, we feel they are learning far more than when we are instructing whole group. The time flew during this particular activity. It was highly engaging. \r\n\r\nThanks again for your contributions to our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1778515039588,"projectUrl":"project/habits-of-highly-effective-teens/10236507/","projectTitle":"Habits of Highly Effective Teens","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Luksa","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8361993_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1777427310107","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8361993"},{"teacherId":10487412,"projectId":10234777,"letterContent":"My students have been loving their new art supplies and have already been learning about new religions and exploring their creative side that way. We have not received our first magazine yet, but we're very excited to bring reading into our room as a fun and positive experience. We continue our academic reading and break down our ideas in small groups before making large posters with our ideas! Our history makers are thinking about topics such as religion, the crusades, and medieval period right now. \r\n\r\nI also received a snack box which has been helping a few of my regular students have a better time in class and provide extra nutrients during the day. Because of your support, I was able to purchase dry erase markers, magnetic erasers, card stock, a laminator, and laminating sheets. All of which are already making a meaningful impact on my students' learning experience.\r\n\r\nIn my classroom, students regularly present lessons to their peers. They create their own PowerPoint slides, model example problems, and then give their classmates problems to solve using mini whiteboards and markers at their desks. We also use large vertical whiteboards around the room for collaborative activities. With the frequency of use, markers tend to run out quickly, so having a strong supply has been incredibly helpful. The use of the magnetic dry erasers make it a handy tool that is right there on the wall. Your donation directly supports daily engagement, leadership, and active participation.\r\n\r\nYou also helped me purchase a laminator, laminating sheets, and card stock, tools that my students many not even notice they are using, but make a huge difference behind the scenes. I've been able to create durable grouping card and reusable materials instead of constantly making disposable copies. This not only save resources but also allows me to create long-lasting instructional tools.\r\n\r\nFrom the bottom of my heart, thank you. Your generosity has directly improved the quality of learning in my classroom. I am deeply grateful that you chose to invest in my classroom and my students. I hope you feel proud knowing your donation is being used thoughtfully and effectively.\r\n\r\nYou truly made a difference. Thank you again.
