I never seem to have enough calculators and students are constantly coming into my room to \"borrow\" one. This year I implemented a different check-out system and it has worked magnificently. In the pockets of a \"shoe\" organizer, I have all the calculators numbered and ready for use. Students grab a laminated sign-out card, fill it out and replace in the spot of the calculator. This system has made the calculator check-out much more efficient and calculators are not getting lost. I previously did not have enough calculators, but your donation allowed me to purchase more calculators.\r\n\r\nIn regard to the snacks, I have multiple students ask if I have any snacks and I can open up the bin and they can select the snack of their chosing. Sometimes it is just a snack to ward of the hunger before lunch, sometimes it has been a snack to fight off nausea.","fullyFundedDate":1757542919680,"projectUrl":"project/snacks-calcs/9589874/","projectTitle":"Snacks & Calcs","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Horak","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1565258_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1535501943258","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/heidi-horak"},{"teacherId":9782977,"projectId":8836955,"letterContent":"I cannot thank you enough for supplying my 7-12 classroom with a classroom set of watercolor pencils. In our rural town, students often feel like they are missing out on the offerings of larger school districts. It means so much to them when they see an investment in their learning from a source outside of their own community. They appreciate you as students, I appreciate you as their teacher, and my administration is proud of what you have helped me accomplish for our art program. \r\n\r\nThe students enjoyed these watercolor pencils greatly and it was so helpful for them to have the added control of this medium when mixing colors for their paintings. The pigment ratios can be very challenging with traditional pallets, and I saw student understanding grow rapidly in comparison to years prior. Before we had these excellent pencils, there was much more guesswork involved. With this new system, I was able to appeal to the logical thinkers more effectively and get real results from them fast. The artistically inspired students also benefited from this new medium and the creative freedom to apply pigment in a different capacity. I hope that these pencils can be a staple in my classroom for many years to come.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, my students will continue to progress as they explore more heavily into transparent mediums. These are generally less forgiving than watercolors, so this base knowledge will help them be successful as they move into advanced painting and murals class. The art program here continues to grow with each passing year, and I thank you again for your positive impact on my classroom. It is truly appreciated, and I look forward to seeing what the future holds for my exceptionally enthusiastic art students that you have helped so much.","fullyFundedDate":1727665167787,"projectUrl":"project/math-disguised-as-watercolor/8836955/","projectTitle":"Math Disguised as Watercolor","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Sekerak","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9782977"},{"teacherId":1565258,"projectId":8706317,"letterContent":"I received calculators, Algebra tile manipulatives and two books with logic puzzles and math games.
