We have been able to implement a cohesive and logical sequence for social-emotional learning. It is engaging and fun for my kindergarten and first grade students. \r\n\r\nWithin the first quarter of the school year, I have been able to easily provide an overview of emotions. My students have loved meeting the little spots of emotion! They love the small plushies. We have introduced the Little Scribble Spot, which happens when our emotions are all mixed up. This led us to becoming emotion detectives! We've learned how to identify and name our emotions. We do daily feelings check-ins using the Little Spots. We are just beginning to explore our Little Peaceful Spot. We've been able to establish our calming corner and will begin making our own sensory/calming bottles in the upcoming week.\r\n\r\nThis curriculum has been impactful for my students as well as my own teaching. It has improved my ability to easily implement social-emotional teaching and address my students' IEP goals.
