Our food justice program is slow-going - it can feel challenging at times because we all feel impatient that change doesn't happen simply through desire. Your donation helped us feel seen and it helped grow our membership, we now meet 2 times a week: on one day we meet as a leadership team to plan the other meeting for general members. \r\n\r\nThe Garden and Food Club is a small lunch club that meets weekly for between 5-7 members in grades 6-8. We have three goals: 1. make school food better by advocating for better tasting and appealing school food and 2. teaching and learning how to cook simple and delicious food within the group at school and 3. learn how to grow our own food in our own school garden to help bring local food into our diets. \r\n\r\nWe recently finished painting one elevated bed with the inclusive pride flag. The planning and painting of the elevated bed has been a highlight of our club this winter and we are looking forward to using the elevated bed as our herb garden this spring.\r\n\r\nBecause of your donation of equipment, we were able to spend our additional funds on food for our upcoming Free Ramen Program. On January 29th, the Garden & Food Club will host its first Free Ramen Program of the school year. We plan on holding at least one more Free Ramen Program this school year.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping our club sustain our existing food programs and increase our garden program.","fullyFundedDate":1759097473610,"projectUrl":"project/food-justice/9745470/","projectTitle":"Food Justice","teacherDisplayName":"Mx.
