The donated GED prep books provide the students with ways to assess what they already know and celebrate that. Also, they can identify the specific areas in which content area review is needed, and they can focus their time and energy on those topics. They can check for understanding along the way and gain confidence in knowing that they're learning. \r\n\r\nConfidence in knowing and believing that they are smart and capable of learning is a hurdle for many of my GED students. The donated GED prep books, tri-fold Quick Reference, and the flashcards present the academic content in a way that is accessible and easily understood by the students. This helps them feel so great about their ability to learn and because of that they remain motivated to keep working and not give up. \r\n\r\nI cannot express the joy that fills my heart when a student has passed an official GED test and they have the biggest, most infectious smile on their face. They are so proud of themselves, they are renewed with a sense of motivation to keep going on to the next subject.
