Students who were nominated for the President's Education Award received special recognition cords and pins that they were able to proudly wear during our graduation ceremony. We also purchased cords to recognize students who participated in and completed other programs at TPHS.\r\n\r\nOur students were incredibly excited and proud when they received their cords and pins. As an alternative high school, many of our students have faced challenges throughout their educational journey, and some never imagined themselves making it to graduation. Being recognized in front of their families, teachers, and peers made the moment even more meaningful. These awards are also something students can take with them beyond high school and include on resumes, college applications, scholarship applications, and future job applications.\r\n\r\nThis year, we hope to continue building on this tradition by giving students more opportunities to work toward meaningful recognition throughout the school year. We want our students to see that their accomplishments—both big and small—deserve to be celebrated. Having tangible symbols of those accomplishments helps build pride in themselves, their programs, and our TPHS community.
