Or they are able to see how to line up their decimals when adding decimal numbers.\r\n\r\nOne of their favorite activities that I was able to buy with the Teachers Pay Teachers gift card was a whole unit on academic vocabulary. My students are learning vocabulary words that they will see on state testing at the end of the year. They are also able to learn about different Greek and Latin roots. The more they learn the more complex words they will be able to understand. Units like this would take a massive amount of time and resources for me to create by myself. Being able to use the Teachers Pay Teacher gift card I was able to quickly and easily find a unit that was already created.\r\n\r\nWe are truly grateful for people like you who took the time to support our classroom. A special moment was during marble run, we played as a whole class and the students were eager to play. during this time we practice taking turn and communicating our wants and needs with classmates. This was a great learning experience because most of my students have a hard time waiting for their turn. \r\n\r\nOur next step is to incorporate more stem tools to our class and create a stem block in our schedule. As well as connect stem challenges into our math and science lessons. One of my students who often struggles to sit through group lesson now happily rocks in the wiggly chair while raising his hand to participate. Another student who needed to move constantly now uses the foot bands to bounce his feet quietly during reading time, which allows him to focus on his book. \r\n\r\nCurrently, we are working on building stamina during independent reading and writing. These flexible seating options are helping students stay in their learning spot longer and focus on their work with less frustration.
