My students were so excited when they first saw everything and could not wait to get outside and use it. It has been so nice watching them play together, laugh, be active, and build friendships outside of the classroom. One of my favorite things has been seeing students who may not normally play together join in on games and activities with one another.\r\n\r\nThe calm-down corner materials and fidgets have also been such a great addition to our classroom. Fourth grade can come with some big emotions, and these resources give my students a safe space to take a moment, reset, and get themselves ready to return to learning. Instead of allowing frustration or overwhelming feelings to take over their entire day, they are learning healthier ways to recognize and manage their emotions.\r\nMoving forward, we will continue using our outdoor materials to encourage movement, teamwork, and positive peer interactions. Inside the classroom, we will continue working on social-emotional skills and teaching students how to appropriately use the calm-down corner and fidgets as tools to help them self-regulate.\r\n\r\nThank you so much for believing in my students and supporting our classroom.
