With these wiggle stools, and bean bag chairs I have been able to utilize flexible and inclusive seating for a wide variety of student needs. \r\n\r\nMy students were ecstatic when they saw the new chairs. We had to set up a schedule initially for everyone to have turns in the different seating because everyone was so eager to wiggle while they worked, or chillax while they read.\r\n\r\nThis new seating truly has helped our first graders to build stamina, begin to understand what they need as a learner, and gain autonomy in meeting their working needs.\r\n\r\nThank you sincerely.","fullyFundedDate":1472995074643,"projectUrl":"project/the-wishing-chairs-flexible-seating-for/2179096/","projectTitle":"The Wishing Chairs: Flexible Seating for Creative, Energetic, Focused, Wonderers","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Blochowiak","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1921676_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1472410618490","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-blochowiak"},{"teacherId":2743854,"projectId":8976556,"letterContent":"Thank you for your support of our classroom. This week, a student told me that her family is terrified because her mom is undocumented. Imagine an eight-year-old having such huge burdens!\r\n\r\nThe Cozy Corner is a hit! We've used it as a rest area, a game area, and a place just to cuddle on the fluffy carpet. It's lovely. The materials are beautifully packaged and came in a big reusable box. Students will be building longer words and using magnetic wipe-off resources to encode and decode multi-syllable words!\r\n\r\nIn this day and age with so much of education transfering to online platforms, gamification of lessons can be a good thing and a bad thing. I believe online resources have their place and can definitely help reduce inequity. I believe these resources will give them word attack skills that will enable them to keep reading longer and stronger!
