One especially meaningful moment came when a student who frequently struggled with sensory overload was able to use the headphones and breathing cards, regulate within minutes, and return to class without needing to go home. That moment reflected exactly what this project was designed to do.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, their reactions were immediate and heartfelt. Many were excited and curious, especially about the sensory tools and calming items. Several students expressed gratitude right away, saying things like \"This feels relaxing\" and \"I can actually calm down here.\" Others were especially drawn to the visual supports, like the breathing exercises and self-care charts, and began practicing them right away. The space quickly became one where students feel safe and respected, and they take pride in using the tools appropriately. It has also sparked conversations about health, emotions, and self-care in a way that feels empowering rather than reactive.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, these materials are becoming part of a larger focus on student wellness and independence. Students are learning to recognize early signs of stress or discomfort and use strategies proactively rather than waiting until they feel overwhelmed. In the Health Room, we are incorporating mini-lessons around self-regulation, healthy habits, and emotional awareness using the posters and visual aids from the project.
