It felt like Christmas morning opening the boxes and seeing what was inside. We were able to fill up our community supply buckets on our tables with our new crayons. 🖍️ This comes in handy during small group activities. Especially last week when we drew pictures of our families. \r\n Then we received new folders which is great for communication with families at home. The kids come in every morning and put their folder in the bin. It helps build responsibility and gives them a job. Plus my IDP this year is to build on family relationships. I am able to send home important papers and weekly newsletters to keep them up to date on what we are doing inside the classroom. \r\n The light table manipulatives were a huge hit too. We were excited to finally put our light table to some use. I appreciate everyone's kind donations.","fullyFundedDate":1757518164890,"projectUrl":"project/light-up-pre-k/9421309/","projectTitle":"Light Up Pre-K","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Karl","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9373427_orig.png?crop=143,143,x0,y14&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1752169327493","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9373427"},{"teacherId":9373427,"projectId":9093229,"letterContent":"The students were so excited when we received the packages to the classroom. They sat there as I opened the boxes and pulled the items out slowly, to see if they could guess it before I fully removed it from the package. They used the Play-doh during center time and small groups. They used their imagination during center time to work as a team and build anything they wanted to. Some made a house, a castle, and a school. They wanted to use them everyday. We used our parachute outside but I forgot to take a photo. We were living in the moment and enjoying flying it up and sitting under it. Thank you all for your donations to our school family. My students use them for at least 30 minutes each day during their personalized learning block while I am working with small groups. As such, students who are working on the computer stay focused and complete their personalized lessons. This has improved my students' platform usage to an average of about 7 hours and 38 minutes of on-task time per week (including homework completion). It also has helped 51% of my students reach their annual growth goals!\r\n\r\nThese headphones have also allowed me to play with my instructional delivery and give students more agency to follow a lesson at their own pace. For example, I may use a platform like Nearpod or Legends of Learning where students can engage with the content differently. Oftentimes, I have even recorded a difficult lesson and uploaded it to our Google Classroom for students to complete a task independently. The headphones allow my students to have a 1:1 teacher because they get to rewatch sections of the video to try and dispel any misconceptions independently before coming to me. It also helps students to review the content if they missed a day.\r\n\r\nOverall, we are immensely grateful for these headphones, and they will most certainly come in handy during our statewide testing window!","fullyFundedDate":1735669134932,"projectUrl":"project/personalized-learning-perfection-headph/8794955/","projectTitle":"Personalized Learning Perfection: Headphones for Focus","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Warner","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8552175_orig.jpg?crop=2544,2544,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1726605779301","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8552175"},{"teacherId":8652928,"projectId":8794018,"letterContent":"---\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThank you so much for your generous support of our project, \"Broken Pencil Sharpener Needs Replacement Parts!\" Your kindness and willingness to invest in our classroom have made a real difference in the daily experience of my students.\r\n\r\nDescribe the Impact\r\n\r\nBefore this project was funded, our classroom sharpener was barely functioning. Students often struggled to sharpen pencils, leading to frustration and lost learning time. With your support, we were able to replace the necessary parts and restore our sharpener to perfect working condition.\r\n\r\nIt may seem like a small thing, but having a reliable pencil sharpener has truly improved our classroom workflow. Now, students can quickly and easily sharpen their pencils and get right back to their work—whether it's writing, solving math problems, or sketching diagrams for science. They are more independent and efficient, and I've noticed an increase in focus and productivity during lessons.\r\n\r\nThis project reminded us how the little things can have a big impact on learning. Your generosity has not only solved a practical problem but also showed my students that there are people who care about their education and success.\r\n\r\nFrom the bottom of our hearts—thank you!","fullyFundedDate":1734099479401,"projectUrl":"project/broken-pencil-sharpener-needs-replacemen/8794018/","projectTitle":"Broken Pencil Sharpener Needs Replacement Parts!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Grey","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8652928"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_64359","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":230,"numTeachers":24,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":95,"percentWhite":1,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":1,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"9.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":59.9,"schoolId":64359,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Collington Square School 97 on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Collington Square School 97","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/maryland/baltimore-city-public-school-district/collington-square-school-97/64359"}
