Many of them knew about the game, but had never played or played when they were younger. I began by introducing the game's history, by sharing videos I found on YouTube. After explaining the rules, we began playing for a period of 2 weeks, each day playing against different classmates in a tournament style. Because I taught financial literacy to these seniors, I incorporated budgeting, investing, and overall money management skills and lessons into the game through trivia add-ons and budgeting documents. My scholars loved the experience and looked forward to competing each day. \r\nThis school year, I started a Monopoly Club at my school and after a few weeks, we have over a dozen regular attendees from grades 9th through 12th. I hope the grow the club to over 20 eventually through word of mouth. \r\nI'm excited to continue this learning journey through the classic game!
