After each experiment, students are responsible for cleaning and properly placing their glassware on the racks to dry. One moment that really stood out was during a recent acid–base titration lab. Instead of clustering glassware on towels and countertops, students efficiently rinsed their flasks, and beakers and organized them neatly on the racks. This saved time, reduced mess, and allowed us to transition smoothly into our data analysis without worrying about broken or contaminated equipment.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the drying racks, their reaction was immediate excitement and relief. Several commented that the lab \"felt more like a real science lab\" and appreciated having a designated place for glassware. It gave them a sense of ownership and responsibility, and they took pride in keeping the lab orderly. These resources helped reinforce that science isn't just about results but it's also about process, care, and precision.\r\n\r\nThanks to the drying racks, our next steps involve more complex, multi-day labs where clean and dry glassware is essential. Students are currently moving into a series of reaction rate and equilibrium experiments that require repeated setup and cleanup. With these new resources, we can spend less time managing clutter and more time focusing on critical thinking, data collection, and scientific discussion. Your support has truly given donors a window into a more efficient, engaging, and authentic classroom experience.","fullyFundedDate":1768428040607,"projectUrl":"project/drip-drop-dry-keeping-our-lab-glasswa/9996532/","projectTitle":"Drip, Drop, Dry: Keeping Our Lab Glassware in Tip-Top Shape","teacherDisplayName":"Mx. My students have been very happy that they have access to headphones and whiteboard erasers. Oftentimes, if there's time during the period, they will do homework that needs these things and it is very helpful in the classroom to have.\r\n\r\nFor instance, the headphones can be used when they have video lectures to listen to. If we have time in class that I can give dedicated to homework and asking me questions on the homework, the videos can be played at anyone's speed without the disruption of several videos going around the room at the same time at full volume. Students have the opportunity to listen to the video at their own pace and can rewind as necessary without disrupting others' listening experience.\r\n\r\nThe whiteboard erasers has helped students do practice problems: whether with worksheets in class, doing questions within a video, or other venues of needing erasers with whiteboards.
