Your donation has made a meaningful difference in our classroom, and I am grateful for the care you have shown my students during my first year of teaching.\r\n\r\nOver the past few months, we have used the classroom timer, portable whiteboard, and carpet in a variety of ways that enrich instruction and create a welcoming learning environment. The carpet has quickly become a favorite spot for flexible seating, allowing students to focus more comfortably during independent work and giving us an inviting space for small-group discussions. It has helped transform our room into a space where sixth-grade students feel both calm and connected.\r\n\r\nThe classroom timer has been an unexpected star of the room. My students were thrilled when they first saw it, and it has since become a tool they rely on daily. Whether it is helping them manage their time during independent tasks or adding excitement to fast-paced, timed math warm-ups, the timer has supported accountability and boosted engagement in a way that feels both fun and purposeful.\r\n\r\nFinally, the portable whiteboard has been invaluable. It allows me to highlight key concepts on co-created anchor charts without sacrificing essential whiteboard space, and it has made modeling strategies and showcasing student thinking far more efficient. It has quickly become something we use every day.\r\n\r\nYour kindness has not only provided us with useful resources, but has also contributed to a classroom environment that feels warm, structured, and thoughtfully equipped for learning. My students' excitement when these materials first arrived—and their continued enjoyment of them—reflect just how impactful your generosity has been.\r\n\r\nThank you again for supporting our classroom and for investing in my students' success. Your support has made an incredible impact on my students, especially those with special and behavioral needs. The items have been used every single day since we received them, and I honestly can't imagine my classroom without them now.\r\n\r\nThe sensory toys have been a huge help in allowing my students to self-regulate and refocus throughout the day. They've become an essential tool during transitions and moments of frustration, giving my students positive ways to release energy and calm themselves.\r\n\r\nThe emotions posters have also been a huge hit in our calming corner! My students refer to them daily to identify how they're feeling and to find strategies that help them cope. It's been amazing to see them take ownership of their emotions and communicate how they feel with more confidence.\r\n\r\nAccommodating for students with special needs has always been a challenge, but your donations have made that challenge more manageable and meaningful every single day. Your generous donations have given us so very much!\r\n\r\nMy aide and I are delighting in our beautifully organized classroom! The bins in each scholar's desk are such a fantastic way to keep their materials in one place and separate from the other class's items. The scholars loved making their special name tags that will be removed from the bin and go home with them at the end of the year. They are easily keeping track of their workbooks and pencil cases. And they love the ear buds that fit right into their pencil cases. We used them right away and they work wonderfully. The larger mesh zipper pouches work perfectly for keeping my math manipulative organized for each lesson - I am so excited!! Finally, the hanging folder crate is such a beautiful addition to our room. The plastic crates I had were breaking and the folders didn't fit correctly. These crates are sturdy and just the right size. The scholars can get their papers easily without worrying about the folders falling. Thank you!!\r\n\r\nOur math puzzles and sensory stickers are already being put to great use. We have several scholars with some special considerations, and they really appreciate the opportunity for a calm break that keeps them in the classroom. I love giving them a break that will help calm their brain without disrupting others. These teach so much through exploration!\r\n\r\nMy scholars love using the Learning Wrap Ups for extra math practice when they have finished their work. They can choose which challenge they are ready for, and self correct when they're done. I love it!!\r\n\r\nFinally, thank you again for the cleaning supplies and true skin tone band aids. My scholars are staying healthy and are able to choose a band aid that matches their skin tone when they get those natural bumps and scrapes. This goes such a long way to creating a healthy, safe, and inclusive classroom culture.\r\n\r\nThank you again for supporting my project. We've been using the seating to create a more dynamic and engaging learning environment where students have the freedom to choose what works best for them. Whether it's cozying up in a corner with a good book, collaborating with peers at a standing desk, or focusing on independent work in a wobble chair, the options have transformed how we approach each day. One memorable moment was during our morning reading block when students eagerly chose their favorite spots and settled into their books with such enthusiasm, it truly felt like a whole new energy in the room!\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the excitement was through the roof! The students couldn't contain their joy when they saw the bright colors and fun designs. It became a highlight of their day to pick their seating, and while there was some friendly competition at first to claim their favorite, we used it as an opportunity to practice sharing and taking turns. It's been amazing to see how much ownership they've taken over their learning space.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, our next step is incorporating flexible seating into collaborative group projects. For example, we're currently working on a storytelling project where students are creating their own picture books. They're using the new seating options to work in pairs or small groups, spreading out across the room to brainstorm, draft, and illustrate their ideas. This has encouraged more engagement and creativity, as they feel more comfortable and excited about their work.\r\n\r\nThanks to you all, our classroom feels more vibrant and student-centered than ever, and the impact on behavior, involvement, and overall learning has been remarkable!","fullyFundedDate":1726758669070,"projectUrl":"project/flexible-seating/8475885/","projectTitle":"Flexible Seating","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Lee","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10059978_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1750366959416","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10059978"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_130372","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":80,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":60,"percentAsian":26,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":6,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":61,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 1","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":83.0,"schoolId":130372,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Clovis Global Academy on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Clovis Global Academy","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/fresno-county-superintendent-of-schools/clovis-global-academy/130372"}
