I never imagined how generous our community would be. The day I found out that my project was funded, I shared the news with my classes, and they cheered. We were all so excited. It gave me chills.\r\n\r\nFrom generous Donors Choose donations, I received gorgeous art materials to share with hundreds of students. We opened each box together and it was like Christmas morning. Students could not wait to dig in and start creating. \r\n\r\nThese materials are being put to great use. While the original plan was to purchase a classroom rug to create a cozy gathering space for our students, that item was unfortunately unavailable. However, the alternate supplies we received have far exceeded expectations and brought new energy and creativity into our learning environment. These materials have allowed us to foster a more interactive, hands-on approach to learning that has deeply engaged my students across subjects. For example, the Post-it Super Sticky Easel Pads and Paper Mate Flair Felt Tip Pens have been wonderful tools for collaborative brainstorming sessions and creative writing. During a recent literacy lesson, students eagerly used these materials to map out story ideas and organize their thoughts in colorful, large-scale formats that made the writing process more dynamic and fun. Watching their excitement as they quickly took turns adding ideas, asking questions, and building on one another's contributions was one of the most rewarding moments in the classroom this year. The supplies have encouraged even my more reluctant writers to participate actively, giving them confidence to express their ideas boldly.\r\n\r\nBeyond literacy, many of the hands-on supplies like the Push and Pop Bubble Ten Frame Math Fidget Sensory Toys and magnetic squares have transformed our math lessons. These tools help students physically manipulate numbers and visual representations, making abstract concepts like counting, addition, and subtraction much more concrete and understandable. The tactile engagement has made a huge difference, especially for students who learn best through movement and touch. The scissors, glue gun, and colorful craft materials have also supported our cross-curricular projects, allowing students to create art pieces and models that connect science, literacy, and math concepts. For instance, we recently designed \"mini-habitats\" where students built and labeled small ecosystems, cutting out plants and animals with the spring-action scissors and assembling their projects with glue. This hands-on experience has strengthened their understanding and made the lessons memorable and exciting. Moreover, classroom organization tools like the carpet spot markers and number mats are helping us manage group activities and floor seating, creating a more structured and inviting learning space. Birthday crowns and celebration materials have added a special, joyful touch to recognizing student milestones, helping build community and boost morale.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we are thrilled to continue integrating these supplies into upcoming lessons and projects. The large whiteboard pads will be used for interactive math games where students collaborate to solve problems, while the sensory toys will support mindfulness and focus throughout the day. We're planning to expand our writing workshops using the colorful notepads and pens, encouraging students to experiment with poetry and storytelling. Your support has done so much more than provide supplies—it has opened doors to creative teaching strategies and meaningful learning experiences that inspire curiosity and growth. Thank you for partnering with us in this journey and for making it possible for our students to thrive. Your generosity is truly making a lasting impact in our classroom, and we look forward to sharing more moments of joy and discovery with you.","fullyFundedDate":1658582727541,"projectUrl":"project/a-classroom-rug-where-anything-is-possib/6509280/","projectTitle":"A Classroom Rug Where Anything Is Possible!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. McMurphy","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8400708_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754347558582","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrsmcmurphy"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_74744","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":520,"numTeachers":33,"percentFrplEligible":15,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":6,"percentWhite":76,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":8,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"15.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":53.0,"schoolId":74744,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Clearwater Creek Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Clearwater Creek Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/kansas/olathe-public-schools-usd-233/clearwater-creek-elementary-school/74744"}
