Because of your contribution, we were able to purchase flexible seating options, including floor seating, as well as small-group classroom sets of engaging novels such as Class Dismissed, Esperanza Rising, Holes, and several others.\r\n\r\nThese resources have had an immediate and meaningful impact on my students. The flexible seating has created a more comfortable and inclusive learning environment, allowing students to focus, collaborate, and engage more fully during reading and discussion. The novel sets have made it possible for students to read together in small groups, share ideas with their peers, and explore diverse characters, settings, and perspectives.\r\n\r\nAs a result, students have shown increased motivation and confidence as readers. Many of my students began the year below grade level, and I am proud to share that every student has recently moved up at least one reading level. While there is still work ahead, this growth represents significant progress and would not have been possible without access to these materials.\r\n\r\nYour investment has directly supported literacy growth and fostered a stronger sense of community in our classroom. Because of you, my students now have access to engaging, high-quality books that have truly increased their interest and excitement around reading.\r\n One book in particular, \"Wonder\" by R.J. Palacio, has had a powerful impact on my students. From the very first chapters, they were hooked. Students who were previously reluctant to read became eager to participate in discussions, ask thoughtful questions, and share their opinions about the characters and themes. \r\n Beyond improving engagement, \"Wonder\" sparked meaningful conversations about kindness, empathy, and acceptance. Students connected deeply with the characters and were able to reflect on their own choices and relationships, both in and out of the classroom. These discussions helped strengthen our classroom community while also building comprehension and critical thinking skills.\r\n Because of your generosity, reading has become something my students look forward to rather than something they feel required to do. You have helped foster a love of reading that will stay with them long after this school year ends. We have observed students remaining on task while using these items, as well as working hard to earn them as rewards.\r\nAdditionally, these resources have allowed us to further support learning through the use of small groups, enabling us to focus on differentiation and truly meet the needs of the unique students in our learning community. The donut seats, in particular, have become a favorite in the classroom. After witnessing the positive impact they have had on student engagement and focus, I look forward to purchasing more in the future.\r\nThe fidgets and sensory items have been instrumental in helping students stay engaged and regulated. Seeing our students so motivated and engaged on an entirely new level—through the use of tools that may be common for some but not always accessible to them—has been incredibly exciting and rewarding.\r\nAgain, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generous contribution. We are truly grateful that our students have been so fortunate to benefit from your support.","fullyFundedDate":1760561705058,"projectUrl":"project/where-creativity-and-learning-happen/9827619/","projectTitle":"Where Creativity and Learning Happen","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. DiGiacomo","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10311620"},{"teacherId":10314164,"projectId":9833939,"letterContent":"THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!
