The privacy folders and erasable pens you helped us purchase have already made a meaningful difference in our classroom—and I'm eager to share the wonderful ways our students are using them.\r\n\r\nFirst Reactions: Pure Joy\r\n\r\nWhen the privacy folders and erasable pens arrived, the excitement in our classroom was palpable. Students immediately understood how these tools would help them. One student said, \"Now I can focus without seeing what everyone else is doing!\" Another commented, \"I can make mistakes and fix them—this is so much better!\" It was clear that our students felt seen and supported by this donation.\r\n\r\nPrivacy Folders: A Classroom Game-Changer\r\n\r\nThe desk privacy folders have transformed our testing environment. During our recent unit assessments, we deployed the folders for the first time, and the difference was immediately visible. Students now have a dedicated, distraction-free space during assessments, which has noticeably reduced test anxiety and improved their ability to concentrate. One student who typically struggles during tests commented that they felt \"less worried about everyone else\" and could \"actually think.\" We've observed that this simple tool helps all students feel more confident and secure during evaluations, leading to better performance and more accurate measures of what they truly know.\r\n\r\nErasable Pens: Independence and Confidence for Special Needs Learners\r\n\r\nThe erasable pens have been particularly transformative for our special needs students. These tools allow them to color-code their work independently—a critical strategy for organization and comprehension. During a recent math activity, I watched a student use three different colored erasable pens to organize their steps: one color for the problem, another for their work, and a third for their answer. The erasable feature has been especially powerful, as it reduces the stress and frustration that often accompanies mistakes. Rather than crumpling up a page or shutting down emotionally when they make an error, students now confidently erase and try again. This simple accommodation has fostered greater confidence, independence, and engagement in their learning.\r\n\r\nLooking Ahead\r\n\r\nAs we move forward into our next unit, we're already planning to integrate these tools even more intentionally into our daily instruction. The privacy folders will continue to support our assessment practices, and we're exploring ways to use the erasable pens for collaborative problem-solving activities where students can brainstorm, revise, and build on each other's thinking without the pressure of permanence. Your generosity has given us tools that will benefit our students throughout the entire school year and beyond.\r\n\r\nYour investment in these resources demonstrates a deep understanding of what our students need to thrive—not just academically, but emotionally and socially as well. Every donation represents real support for real students, and we see the impact every single day.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in our classroom and our students.\r\n\r\nWith sincere appreciation,\r\n\r\n_________________________\r\n\r\n[Your Name]\r\n\r\n[Your Title]\r\n\r\n[School Name]","fullyFundedDate":1763608156542,"projectUrl":"project/shielded-spaces/9895325/","projectTitle":"Shielded Spaces","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. McAvoy","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10299067"},{"teacherId":9926341,"projectId":9412914,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation to my classroom! Your support has made a meaningful difference for my students, all of whom have IEPs. Every item you provided has created opportunities for comfort, focus, and engagement.\r\n\r\nThe beanbag covers have quickly become a favorite, students often ask if they can take a small rest during lunch or before school starts. This simple addition has helped create a safe, calming, and supportive environment where students feel comfortable and ready to learn. The tray has also been incredibly helpful, allowing students to easily access a variety of writing utensils and supplies for their schoolwork, which supports their independence and engagement in class.\r\n\r\nEven small adaptations, like sensory-friendly materials or flexible furniture, can make a huge difference for students with diverse needs, and your gift has truly contributed to making our classroom a welcoming and inclusive space. Something as simple as having a full-height broom — we previously only had a short-handled one — got them genuinely excited. One of my students immediately grabbed it and started sweeping up anything he could find! It's amazing how the little things make such a big impact, and it definitely doesn't go unnoticed.\r\n\r\nAnother student spotted the sodium alginate on my desk and instantly asked if I could teach them how to make caviar pearls. Moments like these remind me why our jobs are so special. Their drive, curiosity, and enthusiasm make it such a joy to challenge them both academically and creatively.
