A week after receiving my package, a student called out another student because of his body odor. I immediately addressed the behavior and explained that we never embarrass someone over something personal. If we notice something, we can quietly speak to the person or let an adult know so we can help.\r\n\r\nAfter class, I spoke privately with the student who had been embarrassed. He told me he had used deodorant that morning, and I explained that sometimes we just need a refresher during a long school day. Because of this project, I was able to give him body wipes and a new deodorant to keep in his book bag.\r\n\r\nHis reaction reminded me exactly why I created this project. He smiled and simply said, \"Thank you, Miss.\" It was such a small moment, but it meant so much.\r\n\r\nThe Care Corner is now set up in my classroom and ready for my students whenever they need it. These resources are not just snacks and hygiene products—they give me a way to quietly help a student while protecting their dignity and allowing them to get back to learning. While building the trophy, students practiced important skills such as measurement, ratios, proportions, geometric reasoning, patterns, estimation, and problem-solving. Instead of simply reading about these concepts, students were able to apply them while creating something they could see and touch.\r\n\r\nThe LEGO set also gave me the opportunity to incorporate teamwork, communication, perseverance, and leadership into my math instruction. Students worked together, followed detailed directions, solved problems when pieces did not fit as expected, and learned that mistakes are part of the learning process. Completing the trophy gave students a sense of accomplishment and showed them what can happen when they remain focused on a goal.\r\nWe were also able to connect our project to future careers involving mathematics, engineering, architecture, technology, design, sports, and other STEM-related fields.
