As a charter school, we often don't have access to new core texts at the same time as nearby public schools, so receiving this class set of 60 books has made a huge difference for our students. Because of your generosity, every student now has their own copy, which has allowed us to fully engage in shared reading, close reading, and meaningful class discussions without limitations.\r\n\r\nReading Let the Monsters Out has helped students build important skills such as analyzing characters, identifying themes, and making text-to-self connections. In our classroom, reading looks like students eagerly diving into the text, annotating, turning and talking with peers, and excitedly raising their hands to share predictions and reactions. Many students who were once hesitant readers are now asking to read ahead and revisit favorite chapters, showing a new level of confidence and enthusiasm for reading.\r\n\r\nSeveral students have shared that this is their favorite book we've read all year, and they love the humor, suspense, and relatable characters. Seeing their excitement and engagement has been incredibly rewarding. Your support has not only provided books—it has opened the door to access, equity, and a genuine love of reading.
