Our rug was 14 years old and in BAD shape. Our floor is just cement so without our new rug, sitting together for group activities would not really happen. They allow for some fidgeting and twisting without distraction. Also they are great to move around the room so students can use them by the window counter, at other tables, in the class library, and even at their desks.
