Our students were thrilled to open the box, and several immediately began reading the first pages before we even finished unpacking the books. Because many of you love reading yourselves, you'll be happy to know that this text is helping us build essential skills such as analyzing character motivation, understanding point of view, exploring themes like friendship and freedom, and making inferences from both text and illustrations. It's also a wonderful book for practicing empathy—students connect deeply with Ivan's voice and the challenges he faces.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, reading is an active, collaborative process. Students read aloud in small groups, annotate with sticky notes, sketch scenes to support comprehension, and have \"turn and talk\" moments where they share predictions or questions. For some of our students with learning differences, the short chapters and emotional storytelling create an accessible entry point into deeper literary analysis. Already, one student who has struggled with confidence in reading asked if he could take the book home \"because Ivan sounds like me sometimes.\" Another student who typically resists longer texts has been eagerly tracking Ruby's character development.\r\n\r\nYour support has brought genuine excitement, community, and confidence into our room. Thank you for believing in our readers, for giving them a story that speaks to their hearts, and for making our classroom a place where every student can feel successful with a book in their hands. In fact the only middle school chapter in our county. What an outstanding opportunity for our students here. Becoming an FFA chapter will help give them real world knowledge and prepare them for the FFA chapter at the high school as well.\r\nThese resources, balloon stands, banner, FFA signs and more were used as decoration for our ceremony. The banner now hangs in our front hallway for all guests and students to see. The balloons and stands along with ffa signs are continually used as decoration in my classroom as well.\r\nOur students here are so excited for this opportunity and can not wait for more FFA opportunities this school year. Now we are able to compete in competitions and students are able to earn awards through FFA which hopefully will help them earn a scholarship in the future.","fullyFundedDate":1742944715724,"projectUrl":"project/ffa-chartering/9188578/","projectTitle":"FFA Chartering","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Hilarie Beam","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp5967297_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1541166954467","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5967297"},{"teacherId":5967297,"projectId":9188518,"letterContent":"Today was the first day we started to use the resources you so generously provided us with. The girls were excited and nervous to try out the plyometric boxes. While it took a couple of jumps to work on height and landing they eventually got the hang of it. They learned to trust themselves instead of worrying about the box. They each made it up on top of the 20\" box and then the 24\" box.\r\nThe boxes truly help with jumping technique and we are excited to use them a lot as we train for the upcoming season. The jump ropes as well will help the girls work on getting more spring/bounce in their jumps.\r\nThe training net will assist our setters and passers as we work on getting our passes to target and our sets to the attackers no matter where the setter is on the court.","fullyFundedDate":1742940186457,"projectUrl":"project/plyometrics-training/9188518/","projectTitle":"Plyometrics & Training","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Hilarie Beam","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp5967297_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1541166954467","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5967297"},{"teacherId":9718262,"projectId":8722013,"letterContent":"I can't thank you enough for your generosity in supporting our band and chorus program! When our students saw the new supplies arrive, their excitement was undeniable—they couldn't believe that people they had never met cared so much about their music education.\r\n\r\nThanks to your donations, we now have essential items that make our daily rehearsals smoother and more effective. Our clarinet players are sounding better than ever with their new mouthpieces, and our brass players are keeping their instruments in top shape with fresh valve oil. Our percussionists are thrilled to have new drumsticks, and the erasable colored pencils and clothespins are already being used to help students track their progress in a fun, interactive way. Even small but important things, like the extension cord and gaffer's tape, have made setting up for concerts and rehearsals so much easier. And of course, the fidget toys have been a hit as rewards for hard work!\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, we're using these supplies to prepare for upcoming performances, where our students will showcase their hard work to the school and community.
