These books really allowed us to deepen our knowledge in different areas. During our reading of \"I Survived the Titanic\" and \"Titanic: Fact Finder\", students used the extra books to enrich their knowledge about the Titanic beyond the book. Students were able to share what they learned with their classmates, and also find connections to our books! They were also able to do this for the Iditarod during our \"Stone Fox\" unit. \r\n\r\nMy students loved using their free time and silent reading time to dive into a topic that they are learning about while also having a say in how they do it. The students loved getting to read books of all different ability levels and story types. With your donation, my students are able to become little engineers as they think about solving problems with their creations. The privacy boards have given them more confidence in their tests, the clipboards allow them to do their work around the room without staying at their desks, and the dry erase markers allow us to show answers and work in a different way than just paper and pencil. Students have also been loving using the markers to play teacher during indoor recess! \r\n\r\nThe color coded bins help up to organize our room more. Students voted on what color should be used for a homework bins, a turn in bin, a bin to hold our notebooks, and a bin to put extra work for early finishers.
