Thanks to your kindness, we received all the materials outlined in our proposal—books, posters, yoga mats, meditation pillows, breathing balls, noise-canceling headphones, a mirror for our affirmation station and a diffuser—and they have already made a meaningful impact in our classroom.\r\n\r\nThe books have become a valuable part of the tools available to students in the Zen Den space, where they are used for independent reading and reflection. Some of the books have also been enjoyed as full-class read-alouds, helping to introduce key concepts around mindfulness and emotional regulation in a shared and supportive setting.\r\n\r\nThe Zen Den space, now fully equipped, provides a calming area where students can practice mindfulness, breathing exercises, and other self-regulation strategies. I've seen students take increasing ownership of their emotional wellness—choosing when they need a moment to refocus and using the space and tools to return to learning with greater calm and clarity.\r\n\r\nEven beyond our classroom, the materials have been shared with others in our school community. Teachers and staff have begun incorporating them into their own practices and spaces, expanding the impact of your donation to benefit many more students.\r\n\r\nAs originally envisioned, these resources are helping students develop the skills they need to regulate their emotions, engage more fully in their learning, and strive toward their personal best—both academically and emotionally. Your generosity made that possible.","fullyFundedDate":1753818473547,"projectUrl":"project/promoting-emotional-student-wellness/9428464/","projectTitle":"Promoting Emotional Student Wellness","teacherDisplayName":"Dr. Amico","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9695370_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1750690529701","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9695370"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_40699","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":413,"numTeachers":33,"percentFrplEligible":33,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":81,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":13,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"3 - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"12.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":86.1,"schoolId":40699,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Charles Cashman Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Charles Cashman Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/massachusetts/amesbury-public-schools/charles-cashman-elementary-school/40699"}
