Your thoughtful contribution has made a significant and lasting impact on our students and our art program as a whole.\r\n\r\nThe \"How to Draw\" books have become an essential resource for our young artists. These books offer clear, engaging guidance that empowers students to develop their drawing skills at their own pace. Whether a kindergartener is learning to draw basic shapes or a fifth grader is exploring more detailed illustrations, your donation has provided a valuable tool that meets each student at their individual level.\r\n\r\nMoreover, the Classroom Library storage has greatly enhanced the organization and accessibility of our materials. By making these resources easily available, students now have the independence to choose projects that align with their interests and artistic goals. This has fostered a more personalized and motivating environment, where creativity and self-expression can flourish.\r\n\r\nYour support has enriched our art room in ways that go beyond materials—it has encouraged choice, boosted confidence, and nurtured a love for art that students will carry with them for years to come. So far we have had the opportunity to read \"Charlie and the Chocolate Factory\" and we are about to start reading several chapters from each of the remaining books that the students will be able to read on their own. By sparking their interest with the first novel, and giving them a glimpse of how Roald Dahl writes, it is my hope that I am creating lifelong readers that love getting lost in a good book! Just like adults, children usually fall in love with an author and want to keep reading books by them, by introducing them to authors that they might not be familiar with, I am able to open up new worlds and new genres.\r\n When students are reading in my classroom, I usually allow them to grab a meditation pillow, cushion, or comfy seat that I have around the classroom. They pick a spot and start reading either along with me, listening to me read, or reading silently to themselves. My favorite part is listening to all the giggles when I get to a funny or silly part. I often try to choose books that also have a movie that was made based on the book. This also sparks interest and intrigue while we are reading the books, then they ask to read the next in the series, especially if there is a movie!\r\n I think my students who do not speak English as their 1st language are really enjoying these books as a read aloud because they are given the opportunity to just listen and do not have to focus on determining each word meaning as much as they would if they were reading independently. I strongly believe that reading aloud also helps them acquire English in a fun way.","fullyFundedDate":1735674939053,"projectUrl":"project/roald-dahl-author-study/9013248/","projectTitle":"Roald Dahl Author Study","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Gialames","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9538031_orig.jpg?crop=480,480,x0,y108&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1715179495331","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9538031"},{"teacherId":7462630,"projectId":8954822,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for donating to our Simple Machine K'Nex project.
