They were so very excited to use them and read them. We are trying hard to cultivate a love of reading in my class so when the books arrived they were so very excited and wanted to read them all right then and there!\r\n\r\nSo many of them were so excited to read about the historical figures they have heard about, like Sitting Bull and Crazy Horse. One of my boys said \"I know this man, he was a warrior in our culture! I want to be strong like him!\" They were so excited to read about and experience in the classroom the same things they see and hear at home. \r\n\r\nThese books came a few months ago, but this month is Native American Heritage Month. So we did many reading projects this month using the Lakota stories and biographies. One of our very traditional Lakota students even used one of the books to teach the rest of the students some of the Lakota language and how to properly give introductions. \r\n\r\nThank you for your generous donation and for enriching the cultural lives of these students as they grow as learners and readers! I can already imagine their faces lighting up as they explore the trampoline for active play, experiment with sound on the wave drums, or practice their balance and coordination with the stepping tiles. The rug will be a cozy place for them to gather during group activities, and the lock board will provide a hands-on way for them to develop their fine motor skills.\r\n\r\nI am eagerly looking forward to seeing how these new resources will enhance their learning. I'm eagerly anticipating their reactions when they first see it. I can already imagine the excitement and joy as they discover the new addition to our classroom. The play kitchen will be a fantastic way for them to engage in imaginative play, while also developing crucial skills like cooperation, language, problem-solving, and fine motor skills.\r\n\r\nI'm looking forward to seeing how they use the kitchen to role-play different scenarios—perhaps running a café, preparing meals, or pretending to be parents and children!
