Our students rely on Chromebooks in order to access assignments and other resources, and they are often out of charge, particularly at the end of the day when I see most of them. I set up a charging station in my classroom, where students can leave their Chromebooks to charge, or sit and work while plugged in. The station is utilized daily and during each period. Without this resource, some students would not have the ability to access our Google classroom and complete classwork. It is a critical resource for us.\r\n\r\nThe calculators recently arrived and I unpacked them into a bin that had held my Dollar store calculators, many of which were in bad shape- some were missing buttons and others no longer turned on. Since I teach Earth and Space Sciences, the students need to have calculators to perform various calculations, such as percent error and the density of materials. The boards and 360 degree protractors will be used in a few weeks when we perform an investigation of planetary motions around the sun using Kepler's Laws to determine Mars' orbit. Students would not be able to perform this investigation without the boards, calculators, and protractors. Thanks to generous donors such as Power Home Remodeling my students have needed tools for success.","fullyFundedDate":1758290653362,"projectUrl":"project/needed-materials-for-earth-and-space-sci/9468349/","projectTitle":"Needed Materials for Earth and Space Sciences","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Pavulaan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7920885_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y772&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1692910616972","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7920885"},{"teacherId":9787086,"projectId":9702057,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for donating snacks for our Multicultural Club! This year has been one of my most challenging as a teacher, but ultimately rewarding.\r\nI wanted to make sure that all of my students were able to participate safely in labs throughout the school year and your support made this possible. We used the materials that you funded to complete the NYS mandated labs, but also were able to have students design their own experiments. My favorite was an investigation about photosynthesis. My students were able to challenge their assumptions about what plants need to grow and then were able to see the application of their ideas in action! Your support has directly impacted their artistic development and creative exploration. These sketchbooks are more than just blank pages; they are vessels for imagination, tools for visual thinking, and spaces for students to freely express themselves. Your kindness has provided each student with the opportunity to document their ideas, practice their skills, and build a portfolio of their artistic journey.\r\nThe benefits of these sketchbooks extend far beyond simply drawing. They foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and spatial reasoning. Students learn to observe the world around them with a keener eye, translating their observations into visual representations. Sketchbooks also encourage self-expression and emotional regulation, providing a safe space for students to explore their feelings and ideas. Moreover, the practice of sketching can improve fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination, essential for various aspects of academic and personal development. The consistent use of these sketchbooks will undoubtedly enhance their artistic abilities and contribute to their overall academic growth.\r\nThanks to your compassion and generosity, my students are now empowered to explore their creativity without limitations. Your support has not only provided them with essential tools but also instilled in them a sense of value and encouragement. We are truly grateful for your investment in their artistic futures and the positive impact you have made on their lives. We are excited to witness the beautiful creations that will emerge from these sketchbooks, all made possible by your thoughtful donations.","fullyFundedDate":1734489165219,"projectUrl":"project/journaling-and-sketching/8775048/","projectTitle":"Journaling and Sketching","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Crespo","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7841360_orig.jpg?crop=2701,2701,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1726191239660","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7841360"},{"teacherId":9787086,"projectId":8848455,"letterContent":"On behalf of my HLA students, I would like to express our deepest gratitude for your generous donation of books.
