Students are able to use them during independent work, note-taking, and other activities when they need something small to keep their hands busy while they focus. They have been especially helpful during longer lessons when students are expected to listen, process new information, and stay engaged for an extended period of time.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, students were excited to see the variety of fidgets and immediately wanted to try them out. It was great to see students recognize that these tools were there to help them learn and focus, rather than simply being something fun to play with. Students have also done a nice job sharing and taking care of the materials so that everyone can benefit from them.\r\n\r\nRight now, we are continuing to build our understanding of biology through hands-on activities, discussions, and independent work. Having these fidgets available gives students another tool to help them stay focused and comfortable while they learn. But now, students seem to feel more comfortable. We've provided socks, hats, deodorant and many other supplies to students in need\r\n\r\nWe informed the staff of your donation as well and received much positive feedback and referrals allowing us to reach out to students who also may be in need but are too embarrassed to come forward. It still amazes me when I realize how some students just lack the basics many of us take for granted, sometimes allowing it to affect their school attendance as they are too embarrassed to come due to lack of cleanliness or improper clothing.
