I always built Robot Rovers in class, but this year we are making them more Autonomous. So, having Lidars, and a way to scan the rovers environment is going to be a really cool enhancement.\r\n\r\nStudents are going to learn some 3 D Printing, to design and print a \"Pan/Tilt\" fixture. This will hold the Lidars, and the Servos, will let us scan the room.\r\n\r\nThis will let students explore projects that incorporate Autonomous driving, ROS programming, and process Laser Ranging data to detect and then avoid objects.\r\n\r\nIt's going to be an Awesome school year.\r\n\r\nThanks again for your support helping my students explore these cool Engineering subjects.","fullyFundedDate":1759044226371,"projectUrl":"project/fire-breathing-lidars-ai-machine-lear/9763504/","projectTitle":"Fire Breathing Lidars, AI & Machine Learning on Autonomous Rovers","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Burnham","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4124083_orig.jpg?crop=2304,2304,x1612,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1583699612871","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/jim-the-steam-clown"},{"teacherId":4124083,"projectId":9750373,"letterContent":"This has been a game changer. My students have started reading the books you helped us get. \r\n\r\nI have been thinking a lot about how to help my students develop a love of reading. One of the things I did was listen to Jennifer Gonzalez' \"Cult of Pedagogy\", podcast number 84 \"How to Stop Killing the Love of Reading\". (On a side note, If you are a teacher, I think that Jennifer's podcasts are a great resource.)\r\n\r\nThis podcast was all about how to get kids to learn that reading can be fun, and is not always about a grade. \r\n\r\nRather than focus on Quizzes, Questions, and Summaries, I wanted to let them spend some time to enjoy reading for pleasure. Reading for fun.\r\n\r\nAs Jenifer answered the Question: \"How do we turn our students into people who love to read?\"\r\n\r\nShe said, and I agree, \"The only thing that can do that is books. Reading actual books alongside other people reading actual books.\"\r\n\r\nSo... With your help we are doing just that. You have helped me create a time & space in my students to read... Just read. \r\n\r\nThank you for supporting my goal of expanding my students' opportunities to read about Engineering, Science, Scientist, Engineers and Luminaries in the early days of understanding Physics and Math. you have helped me provide them a world they can find by reading. Hard Science, Astro-Physics, Robotics, Biographies, Technology Articles... Even some great Science Fiction.","fullyFundedDate":1758482747328,"projectUrl":"project/keep-turning-my-students-into-people-who/9733601/","projectTitle":"Keep Turning My Students Into People Who Love to Read","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Burnham","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4124083_orig.jpg?crop=2304,2304,x1612,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1583699612871","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/jim-the-steam-clown"},{"teacherId":9846124,"projectId":9071385,"letterContent":"We truly appreciate all the supplies you gifted us! Every Wednesday, I great my students with \"Happy Wednesday... Grab a book and read for 20 min\".
