These stories help guide lessons on following routines, understanding expectations, building language, and developing comprehension skills in a meaningful and engaging way. For many of our students, learning through stories provides a concrete and motivating way to practice skills that can otherwise feel abstract or challenging.\r\n\r\nAt the beginning of the year, many students were still learning basic classroom rules and procedures, such as transitioning to the yellow table for story time, sitting with peers, and attending to a group activity. These routines take time, consistency, and repetition to develop. I am happy to share that story time has now become a class favorite. Students eagerly anticipate listening to a variety of stories, participating in discussions, and engaging with the lessons that accompany each book. This growth would not have been possible without your generous donations, which have allowed us to build a rich and diverse classroom library.\r\n\r\nIn addition to reading the books, I have been able to create individualized visuals that pair with the stories. These visuals support students' understanding of key story elements such as characters, settings, actions, and emotions. By having visual access to the lessons, students are better able to comprehend the stories, follow along, and make meaningful connections. These supports are especially important for students who benefit from visual learning and need additional scaffolding to fully engage with the content.\r\n\r\nWe have also completed many hands-on crafts that align with the stories we read. These crafts reinforce story themes and targeted skills while allowing students to express their understanding in a creative and tangible way. Whether students are sequencing events, identifying characters, or practicing fine motor skills, these activities help bring the stories to life and deepen comprehension. The crafts also give students a sense of pride and ownership in their learning, as they are able to take home something they created and talk about the story with their families.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has had a direct and meaningful impact on our classroom. Because of your support, students have access to engaging books, visual supports, and enriching activities that help make learning accessible, enjoyable, and successful for all. Thank you for investing in our students and helping to create a classroom environment where learning through stories is something every child can experience and enjoy.","fullyFundedDate":1757009148661,"projectUrl":"project/big-feelings-little-learners-lasting-l/9460243/","projectTitle":"Big Feelings, Little Learners, Lasting Lessons","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kim","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10077859_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1752362264167","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-kim-class-library"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_31996","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":735,"numTeachers":41,"percentFrplEligible":18,"percentAsian":5,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":65,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":16,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 4","studentTeacherRatio":"17.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":77.4,"schoolId":31996,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Centerton Gamble Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Centerton Gamble Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arkansas/bentonville-public-school-district-6/centerton-gamble-elementary-school/31996"}
