Some were puzzled and some were excited as I rolled into classrooms with multiple Ziplock bags filled with learning stations. Eyes scattered across the room and the chatter began. Students gathered around to find out what was in the mysterious bags. \r\n As I pulled out the contents, students gasped. The phonics learning stations caught their eyes as small dice rattled across the classroom floor. \"Is this a game?\", a student asked. \"It sure is.\", I replied. I shared how to roll the die and read the word that was associated with the number rolled. Students partnered with each other to discuss routines and procedures as well as reading strategies. Some were reluctant to read and roll while others were not shy at all and encouraged their hesitant friends. The literacy stations were a hit! \r\n Thank you for making learning fun! We could not have pulled this off without your help. Now, students are getting the hang of blending sounds and their controlled \"r\" sound. This is helping to enhance fluency, phonics, vocabulary and comprehension.
