Your generosity helped us provide more than twenty new books for our high school library. This collection includes a wide range of titles that will benefit students at many academic levels.\r\n\r\nWe purchased picture books to support ILC Story Time, a program where SPED students enjoy bi-weekly lessons in the library. We also added graphic novels, which are a wonderful way to encourage reading for pleasure among all students and are especially accessible for our emerging bilingual students, who visit the library each month to borrow resources for outside reading. In addition, we selected several new fiction and nonfiction titles to replace lost books and strengthen our collection.\r\n\r\nReading is the foundation of all learning, and your support makes a lasting difference. We are deeply grateful. We have had great sucess in using our materials as a way to extend learning in a new but similar way to the pottery and ceramics that we typically use in our class. The colors and the textures of clay that are offerec with tthe polymer clay are so different that some of the kids have really gravitated to using them. When the students first interacted with the materials they were so excited about all the color. With traditional pottery it is grey and kinda bleek until it is glazed. They really appreciated the idea of making art out of colored clay. I loved this for many reasons, but for one reason in particular which is studnet being excited about something that they can do on their own. Pottery is something that is so material based, you need a kiln, clay, tools, glaze. These things are too expensive to have students ever purchase for doing it on their own. But with polymer clay students got a peak into what they can purchase and do on their own time. Thank you so much for the donation and for helping inspire and develop creativity in my classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1727278593610,"projectUrl":"project/sculpture-with-polymer-clay/8578285/","projectTitle":"Sculpture With Polymer Clay","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Mohrhardt","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2204079_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1693450548728","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2204079"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_41394","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1557,"numTeachers":69,"percentFrplEligible":29,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":64,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":25,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"22.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":80.0,"schoolId":41394,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Centaurus High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Centaurus High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/colorado/boulder-valley-sch-dist-re-2/centaurus-high-school/41394"}
