Your contribution has made a remarkable difference in our learning environment. When the students first walked in and saw the whiteboards installed, their excitement was immediate and contagious—they couldn't wait to try them out! These boards have quickly become one of the highlights of our classroom.\r\n\r\nInspired by the practices in Peter Liljedahl's \"Building Thinking Classrooms\", we use the whiteboards to encourage collaboration, communication, and deeper problem-solving. The students absolutely love when we mix up our math routine and they get to do vertical math. It energizes them, gets them talking, and helps them approach challenges with confidence and creativity. Your gift has truly transformed the way we learn together each day.\r\n\r\nThank you again for investing in our students and supporting the kind of learning that helps them grow as thinkers and teammates. The new filing containers and the metal locker have completely transformed how we stay organized. My students and I were so excited to find a home for all of our learning materials, manipulatives, and centers. \r\nWhen the items arrived, my kinders immediately wanted to help set everything up. They were proudly labeling bins and stacking tubs like little organization pros. Now, they can easily grab what they need for small groups, literacy stations, or morning tubs, and they love the independence that comes with knowing exactly where everything belongs.\r\nThese new storage pieces have made our classroom feel calmer and structured, which helps my students focus and feel confident in their space.\r\n\r\nThank you so much for helping create a space where my students can learn, explore, and grow, and for giving us the tools to stay organized while doing it!","fullyFundedDate":1755701663715,"projectUrl":"project/a-place-for-every-little-thing/9596068/","projectTitle":"A Place for Every Little Thing","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Monter","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9633774_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1748745658888","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9633774"},{"teacherId":9633774,"projectId":9426128,"letterContent":"Our classroom has been absolutely buzzing since our \"Imagination Station\" arrived! The new dramatic play items have quickly become a favorite spot for my kinders. They love stepping into roles—whether it's running a pretend bakery, cooking up meals, or acting out real-life situations. It's been so fun watching their little imaginations grow as they work together, problem-solve, and use their creativity to tell stories.\r\nWhen the boxes first came in, the kids were practically bouncing with excitement. Their eyes lit up as they explored all the new materials, and we had a line of students waiting to take turns trying everything out. Since then, I've seen so much growth in their social skills. They're practicing sharing, communicating, and even using new vocabulary as they role-play different scenarios. One of my favorite moments was watching a group of students set up a \"restaurant\" and take turns being the cook, the server, and the customer—they were so proud of themselves!\r\nThanks to your generosity, these resources have given my students a safe and fun space to imagine, create, and learn together. The \"Imagination Station\" isn't just about play—it's helping build the foundation for their language, social, and problem-solving skills. These texts are helping us introduce lessons on vocabulary development, reading fluency, and comprehension strategies like identifying the main idea, making inferences, and summarizing key details.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, reading is an active, engaging process. Students often read in small groups, where they discuss the story, ask each other questions, and connect the text to their own experiences. During whole-class read-alouds, we pause to examine challenging words, analyze character decisions, and predict what might happen next—turning reading into a shared adventure.\r\n\r\nWe've noticed some especially wonderful moments with students who previously hesitated to pick up a book. One reluctant reader now rushes to the reading corner to grab her favorite mystery series, excited to share her theories with classmates. Another student who struggled with comprehension is now confidently explaining story elements to his group, his face lighting up with each successful connection.\r\n\r\nYour support has transformed reading from an assignment into an experience our students genuinely look forward to every day.","fullyFundedDate":1746786271607,"projectUrl":"project/exploration-by-books/9246722/","projectTitle":"Exploration by Books","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Villanueva","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9121020"},{"teacherId":9259271,"projectId":8843605,"letterContent":"Thank you for your generous donation to my fourth grade classroom! I like to surprise students with each new read-aloud book to help create some mystery and excitement about what's next! One perk of the class sets I have chosen is that they both have a movie we can watch as a culminating activity, then work on comparing and contrasting the book vs. the movie and even work on some opinion writing about which they prefer and why. \r\n\r\nSo, your generosity hasn't just provided books for my current and future students to read and enjoy, you have also helped me teach important critical thinking skills they will use throughout their academic careers.","fullyFundedDate":1728082507803,"projectUrl":"project/reading-adventures-together/8843605/","projectTitle":"Reading Adventures Together!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Marmolejo","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9259271"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_75049","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":458,"numTeachers":21,"percentFrplEligible":44,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":58,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":32,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"21.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":67.7,"schoolId":75049,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Cedar Ridge Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Cedar Ridge Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/colorado/pueblo-county-school-district-70/cedar-ridge-elementary-school/75049"}
