My students were also pleased to see German, Gujarati, and Phoneipian a language from Micronesia represented too. One of our English Language Learner classes stopped by and we started reading \"My Two Border Towns,\" but in Spanish. My students forget I can read in English and Spanish. They can't wait for our next school year so they can read all of these new amazing picture books. They showed off their favorite illustrations in several of the pictures. We laughed hard at \"Let's Be Bees.\" \"Pop Goes the Nursery Rhyme\" is going to be a new staple read among my kindergarten classes in the next school year. Our books are so much easier to locate and find. We have managed to finish our main section of nonfiction books. I still have Languages and fairy tales to add signs for in the next few weeks. We will also add series pictures or signs for shelves that feature fiction series to help friends find their favorite books. \r\n\r\nOur second grade students completed the bridging to third grade lesson this week. They visited the nonfiction books shelves and identified their favorite shelf among the shelves of a given bookcase. They were delighted to discover how to build Lego books, countries around the world, planets, cryptids, ghosts, biographies of famous people, and joke books. Our students were reminded that the books in this section can be quite challenging as some books are written at a much higher reading level than they might have read this school year. Then, our second grade friends perused several of our most popular books in the section that were written at a reading level that most could access with success.
