We've been using the books daily during read-alouds and small group activities, and one of our favorite moments has been exploring Pete the Cat activities together. The students were especially excited to connect the stories to hands-on learning, music, and movement. The Pete the Cat stuffed animal quickly became a classroom favorite and has officially turned into our classroom pet. The students love taking turns including him in lessons and story time, which has helped increase engagement and participation.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their reactions were priceless—big smiles, excitement, and lots of enthusiasm. They were eager to explore the books and immediately wanted to read, touch, and interact with everything. It was clear how meaningful it was for them to receive materials that were chosen specifically with their learning needs in mind.\r\n\r\nThanks to our donors, we are able to provide high-quality materials that will last and continue to support our students for years to come. These resources are already making a positive impact by encouraging literacy, communication, and social interaction in our classroom.\r\n\r\nOur next steps include continuing to build lessons around these books, expanding literacy activities, and using the materials to support comprehension, social-emotional learning, and group participation. The students remain excited each day to use the donated items, and we are incredibly grateful for the generosity and support that made this possible. We truly cannot thank each and every donor enough for helping make our classroom such a joyful and engaging place to learn.","fullyFundedDate":1758826410038,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-612-autism/9423562/","projectTitle":"Classroom 6:1:2 Autism","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Amodei","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10059838"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_97687","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":300,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":63,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":4,"percentWhite":84,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":4,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"11 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":100.0,"schoolId":97687,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Regional Education Center on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Regional Education Center","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/-county-run-/cayuga-onondaga-boces/97687"}
