Last year, we started a color coded system for recess equipment so when one grade level inadvertently broke or damaged their recess material through play, it didn't restrict other grade levels from having access to equipment. This system received A LOT of positive feedback from our school community. However the cost to replenish that recess equipment is expensive because as the principal, I need to replenish the equipment in each color. \r\n\r\nHaving brand new Recess Equipment on the first day of school is equivalent to opening up a brand new box of crayons on the first day. There's a distinct new smell that can't be described, but equally you know, the equipment will never be that clean again. This year, we added scooters to the recess mix. These are a fan favorite, especially in Kindergarten. We will definitely have to do another project for more of those. Two scooters for approximately 70 kids is just bad math on my part, ha! With your kindness though, we had a small surplus of extra equipment that we are going to hold onto until after winter break to replenish the equipment mid year! \r\n\r\nFurthermore, I would like to extend my appreciation for your donation. As the principal, recess equipment is not something funded by the district. We rely heavily on our school fundraisers, PTA and community donations to help us purchase new equipment. That being said because we didn't have to spend money on recess equipment this year, we had the funding available to support a Family Academic Night initiative later this month.","fullyFundedDate":1750638665202,"projectUrl":"project/new-recess-equipment-for-ces/9423812/","projectTitle":"New Recess Equipment for CES","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Clark","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10059949_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x0,y534&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1750353857092","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10059949"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_25558","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":325,"numTeachers":25,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":4,"percentWhite":39,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":52,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 4","studentTeacherRatio":"13.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":67.9,"schoolId":25558,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Caseyville Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Caseyville Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/illinois/collinsville-community-school-district-10/caseyville-elementary-school/25558"}
